- General character rules.
- Remember, changes may be asked for at any time, for any reason.
- Two characters per mun, per team. Period.
- Characters must fit the genre. Meaning that they must be a Marvel Comic’s Character. No WoD, No Poke-E-Mon, No Trek, No Star Wars.
- When you believe your character has improved based on roleplay advance you may approach your Storyteller for a stat-adjustment to show your growth.
- It is room policy to award no more than +1 to any stat at a given time. In some extreme cases a Storyteller may award more, but this is a case by case situation.
- If your character dies, without it being the basis of a storyline that is previously approved, we have a six month period of waiting before we allow the character to be restored. Marvel has a revolving door on Death, but in order to not pollute the room, we do have to force a standard.
- Remember to be respectful of Canon Characters, the C is not your’s until you are approved. Do not flash the canon handle until you have applied for it.
- Canon Characters:
- StoryTellers or Team Leaders can approve an NPC (non-player character) for their Storyline or Team. If one of the following criteria is met.
- Create or move plot.
- Repair any damage done to a character so it is playable.
- Advertise the character so others might get interested in apping it.
- We ask that you not play canon characters in this room if you currently play the same character elsewhere. Give someone else the opportunity.
- We ask that you play all major canon characters no less than once a month. We define ‘major’ as being any character whom has a titular book.
- We ask that in respect of spoilers that you not apply for newly introduced characters in Marvel Comics for ONE MONTH following the date of the initial appearance comic’s release.
- Please keep in mind that the Administration reserves the right to pull a canon character in the event of an extended LOA. Extended LOA is defined by LOA extending beyond two weeks, or multiple LOA’s that accumulate to inactivity over the period of a month.
- It is the Storyteller’s and Host’s right to revoke a canon character at any time should it become clear that the canon character is not being played true to the heart of the C as applied and approved.
- StoryTellers or Team Leaders can approve an NPC (non-player character) for their Storyline or Team. If one of the following criteria is met.
- Original Characters:
- It is not room policy to dictate how many original characters that you play, as long as you follow the application process.
- It is room Policy to start Originals at Intensities totalling no higher than 13.
- For mutants who get only one ’schtick’ we do ask that their mutation -total- no more than intensity 13.
- Original Characters from other rooms may not be crossed over to this room.
- Please be aware for -storytelling purposes- characters with higher intensities may be approved.
- Character Approval:
- Original Characters can be test-run once the application is submitted, but not before.
- Please be aware that a character can be denied by the host or storyteller for any reason at any time.
- Inactive Canons are considered and weighed into whether or not a Canon application is approved. The more inactive Canons you have, the more likely it is the application will be denied.
- Inactive Originals are rarely held against an app, though there are exceptions if the character is holding up plotlines.
- Character History:
- It is the policy of this room and all teams that if you apply for a character that has been played before, that you MUST know the in-room history on this character. This usually means talking with the former player of that character.
- However we understand that in some cases previous play is undesirable. If a character has not been in active play within the last calendar year we will normally allow a reboot to this character. If something prevents a reboot (for example if the character is irreversibly tied to an active character), we will allow a rework in order to make the character more playable.
- In the event that someone cannot be contacted, either for previous history or character connection, please denote that in the application.
