Some common questions with what I hope are simple answers. If you think of any other questions that you believe should be included in this area please email them to me and I will see about adding the question to the list.
First off, just so everyone is aware, not all elements and features of this site will work in IE. I recommend downloading Firefox or Netscape. So far, this only seems to be the case with ‘Asides.’

Q1: How do I find a character’s C-Sheet? A: The easiest way to locate the character sheet for a particular C (character) is to use the search function at the top of the page. Type either the given name of the character or the character’s codename. The Database will retrieve any posted files with matching information. Please be sure to check your spelling as the search engine does not account for possible matches or the next best thing - it only handles exact matches to what you enter.Because the room is based on a What if? setting some powers established for this room on the roster pages will be different from their MSHAG book counterparts. Q2: What if I want to make changes to my C-Sheet? A: If you would like the information on your character sheet altered in any way from what has been recorded, please contact the appropriate storyteller and they will update the information or contact the webmaster to have the update made. All changes to character information need to be submitted for approval before the database is altered in any way. A: Please email the webmaster with a link to the page, a copy of the text as it appears in the database, and a summary regarding how you believe the information should appear. Please include any dates of approvals that may correspond with the correction you believe necessary. Q4: Why can’t I find character histories? A: Character histories will not be included in this database because their backgrounds are very much mutable and subject to change based on in room events. If you are applying for a character included on this database it will be necessary to contact the last player or storyteller for background information. Q5: Can I suggest something for the page? A: You may. Please email your suggestions to the webmaster and they will be considered. Q6: Why doesn’t the search function work? A: The search option will only look through the character rosters, not through the rules or guide. Q7: Why did you guys make this? A: It was about time that all of the information needed for chatters, storytellers, and staff be located in one central database. The ease of use when presented with character sheet storage was also a major motivator in the creation of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Database. Q8: How may I find out who plays a character? A: In order to find out who is currently playing a character in the database, you will need to consult the roster page on the homepage for Marvel: What if? All characters currently in play are listed along with their character models, storyteller, and who currently plays said character. Also, as a side note, NPCs that are open to application are documented on the homepage, along with those that are no longer applicable to play (due to death or room rules.) Q9: What if I do not want my character’s info on this site? A: Fortunately, the decision is not in your hands. |
